		<description><![CDATA[I completely agree these &quot;attitudes&quot; are a recipe for disaster, if not outright failure. What struck me most in the list was the use of pronouns. In four of the five  items you list we find the words: we, us, and our.

IT Governance is the &quot;processes and relationships that lead to the reasoned use of technology in the Enterprise.&quot; IT Governance won&#039;t succeed if the organization focuses solely on the relationships - especially when the relationships are autocratic.

At the end of your post, you rightfully note the need for the work processes that are critical if an organization has any hope of establishing successful governance. I actually view those work processes as governance processes. When we use these processes to &quot;govern&quot; our decisions, then the &quot;lightweight set of checkpoints&quot; are simply the oversight mechanisms we use to ensure our governance processes are optimized and performing as we intend.
